2014 Vintage (25th March 2014)
Wrights Vintage
Good news, the grapes are all in and fermenting nicely, last week was a huge rush with longs days and nights – once again we were able to harvest all our grapes by hand to ensure only the best crop is harvested and the grapes get to the winery in good condition.
We are really excited with some of the wines we have planned this year – rose, a sparkling blanc de blanc, a sparkling muscat, sauvignon blanc fermented on skins, viognier and – at long last – a pure semillon – plus our normal selection.
Our grapes from the South Island have yet to arrive, but we expect these over the next few weeks.
If you live in Gisborne – Nicola has organised a
Unique Wine & Food Deconstruction evening on the 21st March Friday from 5.30pm at our local Wine Centre. There are still tickets available – so either email us directly info@wrightswines.co.nz to book or call us on 862 5335, the wine centre can also take bookings on 867 4085.
The wine and food experience is a great chance to tantalise your taste buds with 6 creative tapas, matched with Wrights wines. An opportunity to take wine tasting to a gastronomic level. The tapas break down the full flavours of the wines and put them on a plate. Hear what the Winemakers wife has to say. Nicola Wright came to Gisborne 10 years ago to meet Mr Wright – find out what it has been like finding Mr Wright or not!
